Day 3

What a day! We cycled to the Hague! :)  We've been very lucky with the weather as it was nice, partly sunny and up to 18°C. In the Hague, we saw the city centre and visited an extremely interesting museum - Panorama Mesdag, most famous for Mesdag's paining that stetches at 1600 m2 and gives you an unforgettable feeling of actually standing on a dune and looking at Sheveningen, a typical fishing village, and the beach.
On the way through the city centre, we were lucky to see Royal ceremony. The new King of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is going to be coronated on 30th April.

Welcome to the Hague

We put our bikes here. Quite crowded, don't you think?

One of the office buildings

We took a tram like this one

The Royal band

Seeing a short movie about how Mesdag's painting got restored

Only a small part of the famous magnificent painting. The dunes in front are real.

'We really like the paining. It takes your breath away!'

Free timeeeeee
After some free time, we took a tram to Omniversum, where we saw the movie 'The Living Sea'. It was fantastic! You can take a glimpse of how Omniversum looks like here.
There was only one part of our today's trip laft - cycling back to Leiden. It was not as difficult as we had expected. Are we getting used to cycling?  ;)
We called it a day, some tired, but all with the smile on our faces. We made it!

About to see the movie

Taking a rest on the grass by Omniversum and enjoying some sunshine

  1. Everything about this day was exiting. I would really like to read some students´comments and descriptions of how life in the families looks like. Maybe my wish will come true.
